Video Game Addiction Warning

Playing video games on a daily basis is bad for you.

If you play these games on a regular basis and you make playing them a priority over the people around you or over your obligations then you need to stop playing immediately.
When you play video games, your body releases ‘reward’ hormones that makes you feel pleasure. This is an ancient response to fight-or-flight situations which can also apply to success in creative tasks. This release of hormones is addictive and addictions are dangerous. The problem that video games bring is that they stimulate the release of ‘reward’ hormones far more frequently than nature intended which makes gameplay a form of self-abuse.

Developing an addiction to video games is easy and will consume vast quantities of your time that could be used much more constructively.

If you recognise any of the things mentioned above then it’s time to get a hobby!
You can always ask the people around you for ideas to help you break this dependency.
